Towards a better and healthy side of me

It is so irony that my previous post is about foods >.<
U can still enjoy eating but at the same time taking care of your body

its never too late to turn your back to all those time when you have EXTRA FAT at places it shouldn't be at.

i love food so much and to add the to the guilt, any quantity will be finish due to my childhood teaching that i must finish all the food that is on my plate ~.~ (because other kids are less fortunate than u and has nothing to eat)

I am giving myself a HUGE STAR to congratulate me for striving towards a better and healthy me

PROBLEM STATEMENT
one of the reason, i started to realized that i must change when i was non-stop being said to be FAT~.~ duhh...i just have a chubby face, doesn't mean i am fat...some people are just plain cruel but forgive them and take their words as a stepping stones to be a much healthier person.
I am not fat actually, maybe gained some weight than before. In fact i have a healthy weight based on the calculation of BMI ^.^/ never had the problem of underweight or even overweight. I am just blessed to be healthy...BUT AFTER BEING MEASURED BY SOME KIND OF MACHINE...
I realized, my muscle index is lower than normal and my metabolism rate is also slower than normal :(
IT WAS KINDA DEPRESSING TO BE SO WEAK....

METHODOLOGY
But since then, i started to be careful of what i eat and drink, i started to jog even sometimes alone once or twice a week in the beginning of this year. i wan to have muscle strength. >.< Not only did i jogs, but i did some aerobics in my room during the weekend. ^.^/ it is good to sweat and feel good after that. Feeling the muscle stretch and strain is a good feeling hahaha

EXPECTED RESULT:
U must wonder whether i did lose some fat or what right?? well, i did not have any weigh machine :P but i realized, my pants slowly loosen up, i don't get tired easily walking up the stairs like before, and what i liked most was people realized. :P (no telling who and who)

RECOMMENDATION:
Advice: Do Not DIET.
Slowly reduce your food intake, Don't go and starve yourself, your tummy is not used to it yet and worse you'll gonna die early if you do that, seriously.

Eat more healthier food and less of fried stuffs or fatty food. If u do happen to take those, please drink up a cup of apple cider vinegar which acts likes a dish washing liquid which cleans up your colon :P
When i am hungry between meals, i'll eat up dried nuts and fruits :P

Drink more water too, the more water u take, the toxins from the body were remove from you system.

Don't just concentrate on losing your weight because drastic weight loss is only temporary and leaves cellulite marks on places where it is visible. I heard it is hard to remove cellulite, so take care ya!! :D

Most of the health stuffs i take are from Natural Health Farm (u know Jessie Chung??) try it!! no harm of taking care of your body right??

IF YOU LOVE YOURSELF, LOVE YOUR BODY AS WELL
No riches in this world can buy you good health.

Recently i'm taking prune juice from biogreen

A good body cleanser

Prune is a high  antioxidants food which’s rich in iron and potassium to help prevent hypertension and stroke, it’s also a good source of Vitamin A. When the body receives foods deficient in enzymes, it increases its white blood cells as a defense mechanism, which can weaken the immune system.

·         Potassium and iron are essential for good health and blood pressure.

Hunger Attack in 1B (part 1)

I love eating but not enjoying the guilt after that. Being a student, getting nice yummy food can be tough, especially, one need to have
 1. transport 2. money 3. friends who enjoys food as well
if none of the above, then find other alternatives :p

usually, in my campus, UMS, shuttle bus from 1 Borneo will start picking up students from the DKP bustop at 12pm till the latest 9pm. There's a con in using 1B shuttle bus, the bus was and is kinda small and only has around 20++ seats, not only that, the number of students entering the bus must not more than the seats provided. To make matter worse, there is always more students than the number of seats. And u got to squeeze yourself, push others away just to go to 1 B
:P hahaha...

that's 1B bus

Well, actually not only the shuttle bus, for all the buses in UMS, students WILL literally runs towards the bus and turns into little monster shoving their ass onto the bus and turn into little angels when obtained seats :P ( i may have been in the category at some times *guilty*)

THAT'S SO OUT OF THE TOPIC
but since I've already type it all out, might as well, continue.

If you dont have money, dont go to 1B. (SERIOUSLY)

There's several places where i enjoy when i have all three conditions and several special places to eat when i have the extra no.2 for special occasions.

*CAUTION: WHAT YOU READ BELOW IS MERELY BASED ON MY TASTE BUDS AND THE PICTURES ARE NOT MINE UNLESS STATED

Fast food

Most people finds fast food as their first option when come to choosing a place to eat.

 McDonald

I have my first McD burger in Sabah. And thanks to certain someone who introduce me to Mr.Crispy Spicy.
I have my own friends who enjoys McD alot, i mean like there's one time we went to McD for 3 days straight after class, the proof is we all got fat together :P
Personally, i like Spicy Chicken McDeluxe but cant anymore since im going on a healthy diet (on and off) :P. And plus, Mr.R  does not enjoy McD at all. So, the only time i'll go to McD is with my McD friends.

 KFC

Oh KFC, how fast i get bored of u!! A whole plate of snack plate meal could i enter into my tummy but now its only half snack plate :P
KFC will now be my once of twice a semester and unless there is no other options left.
I now finds KFC chicken very oily and has really thick fat laying under that delicious crispy looking skin, oh, how deceitful of them.
However, Mr.R really do loves eating chicken so he'll just takeaway 2 pieces and eat it with Bario rice (after i nag and nag).

well, thats the usual fast food corners i went, there's Pizza Hut but never went there due to certain circumstances :(

Sushi Corner

Sushi King

hmmm...the numbers of time me going to sushi kings can be counted by my ten little fingers or maybe less.

Wagamama

however i went here a few many times, and plus Mr.R really love the ham cheese here (hmm..eating ham cheese in a Japanese restaurant?)

In fact i do enjoy eating sushi, but wait till i have enough no.2 then i'll go alone and eat to my tummy could content. Both places in my opinion has its own pros and cons, wagamama has certain dishes available but not in sushi king. i guess, i'll prefer eating sushi in sushi king and set meals in wagamama.

Kahve

what's is wrong with u Kahve?? when i first enter, the food WAS delicious but disappointingly the recent time i went there it was SALTY and DRY and COLD!!! lol
u have me put high hopes in you that one day u may become successful :( so no pics for u!

The food taste in Kahve is very Malaysians. That is why the price is affordable for Malaysian but the ambience gives out a vibe of pricey. And adding to the disappointment, fish and chips there are eaten with mayo. T.T

Manhattan Fish Market

Recently there's a promotion for students throughout Malaysia.*nyum nyum* went twice and its very filling. i tried Seafood 101 which consist of fries, 2-3 fish and 5 squid rings and another time I tried the All Star Fish and Chips which minus the squids and extra fishes add ;) the sauce is to me is like sour cream with garlic.
planning of bringing Mr.R here one day. *wait for me ya!

KENNY ROGER Roasters
 (An all time favourite)
Come in with a frown and out with a smile and a bulging tummy. (That's how Joy C's it)
Eating at KRR is only once of twice a semester, i can't afford going there many times and i would like to keep the sparks between us (KRR n i). ;D
Every time i went there, quarter meal with original sauce will be my choice and so is Mr.R. Once i brough my Sis G to eat at KRR for the first time in her life, she falls in love at first taste lol.
So no more words needed to describe the love.

Well, to be continue..i've got to go back studying
Stay tuned for part 2

Love,
Joyce

YumYum recipe

I find this recipe not only healthy but appetizing *slurps*

Herbed Chicken Tenders with Tomato Sauce Recipe

INGREDIENTS

Chicken Tenders
  • 2 lbs chicken tenders (about 12 pieces)
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk*
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp Italian seasoning herbs**
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
Tomato Dipping Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1 chopped garlic clove
  • 1 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 15-ounce can of tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
*You can make a substitute for buttermilk by adding a tablespoon and a half of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 1/2 cups of milk and letting the mixture stand for 10 minutes.
**A mixture of dried herbs often used in Italian cooking such as marjoram, thyme, rosemary, savory, sage, oregano, and basil

METHOD

Sauce
1 Heat the olive oil in a pot over medium-high heat. Sauté the onions, stirring often, until translucent, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and cook another minute.
2 Add the tomato paste, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes more. The tomato paste should darken to a brick-red color.
3 Add the tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes, salt and sugar and bring to a boil. Cook this for 5 minutes if using tomato sauce, 10 minutes if using crushed tomatoes.
4 Put the sauce into a blender and purée until smooth. Hold your hand over the blender lid to keep it from popping off, and start the blender at a low setting and work up to the highest.
The sauce will keep in the fridge for up to a week.

The Tenders
1 Soak tenders in buttermilk for 15-30 minutes. While the tenders are soaking, make the sauce (see sauce directions above).
2 Mix together the breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, and salt in a shallow bowl.
3 Heat oven to 500°F. Line a roasting pan with foil. Brush the top of the foil with vegetable oil to help prevent sticking, or use a Silpat sheet. One by one, remove the chicken tenders from the buttermilk and place in the bowl with breadcrumbs, coating them on all sides with the breadcrumbs. Place on the roasting pan.
4 Drizzle a little melted butter over each chicken tender. Place in the oven and bake for about 12 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through, and the pieces are lightly browned.
Serve with a bowl of the sauce for dipping.
Serves 4-6

The RESULT ---------->   Herbed Chicken Tenders with Tomato Sauce
