YumYum recipe

I find this recipe not only healthy but appetizing *slurps*

Herbed Chicken Tenders with Tomato Sauce Recipe

INGREDIENTS

Chicken Tenders
  • 2 lbs chicken tenders (about 12 pieces)
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk*
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp Italian seasoning herbs**
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
Tomato Dipping Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1 chopped garlic clove
  • 1 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 15-ounce can of tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
*You can make a substitute for buttermilk by adding a tablespoon and a half of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 1/2 cups of milk and letting the mixture stand for 10 minutes.
**A mixture of dried herbs often used in Italian cooking such as marjoram, thyme, rosemary, savory, sage, oregano, and basil

METHOD

Sauce
1 Heat the olive oil in a pot over medium-high heat. Sauté the onions, stirring often, until translucent, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and cook another minute.
2 Add the tomato paste, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes more. The tomato paste should darken to a brick-red color.
3 Add the tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes, salt and sugar and bring to a boil. Cook this for 5 minutes if using tomato sauce, 10 minutes if using crushed tomatoes.
4 Put the sauce into a blender and purée until smooth. Hold your hand over the blender lid to keep it from popping off, and start the blender at a low setting and work up to the highest.
The sauce will keep in the fridge for up to a week.

The Tenders
1 Soak tenders in buttermilk for 15-30 minutes. While the tenders are soaking, make the sauce (see sauce directions above).
2 Mix together the breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, and salt in a shallow bowl.
3 Heat oven to 500°F. Line a roasting pan with foil. Brush the top of the foil with vegetable oil to help prevent sticking, or use a Silpat sheet. One by one, remove the chicken tenders from the buttermilk and place in the bowl with breadcrumbs, coating them on all sides with the breadcrumbs. Place on the roasting pan.
4 Drizzle a little melted butter over each chicken tender. Place in the oven and bake for about 12 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through, and the pieces are lightly browned.
Serve with a bowl of the sauce for dipping.
Serves 4-6

10 things u need to know before buying contact lenses

1. How hard is it to get used to wearing contact lenses?
Everybody adjusts to wearing contact lenses differently. How long it takes for a person's eyes adjust to wearing contact lenses varies and depends on the sensitivity of the eyes and also on the type of contact lenses being worn. Typically it will take from one day up to about two weeks.

2. How do you take care of contact lenses?
Proper care of contact lenses varies depending on the type prescribed. Disposable and extended wear brands are simply thrown away after they are used. Soft contact lenses and gas permeable lenses require more care to ensure longevity and to protect against infecting the eyes.

3. Do you have to be a certain age to wear contact lenses?
Age does not matter as long as the person wearing contact lenses can responsibly care for them. If not cared for properly, contact lenses can become damaged or lost, and they can become infected and cause serious injury to the eyes. Parents should be part of the decision making process.

4. Is it possible for contact lenses to become lost inside the eye?
This is highly unlikely. A contact lens can get stuck under the eyelid, making it difficult to find. If you have trouble locating your contact lenses, your eye doctor can help.

5. What is the difference between daily wear and extended wear contact lenses?
Daily wear lenses are inserted into the eye and removed each day. Extended wear contact lenses are made from different materials and allow more oxygen to reach the eye. Because of this, extended wear contact lens can safely be worn between seven to thirty days before removing, depending on the brand.

6. How do you purchase contact lenses?
Before you can purchase prescription contact lenses, you must get an eye exam and then have the eye doctor write out a prescription. You can get the prescription filled at many places, including retail outlets, doctors' offices and the Internet.

7. Besides daily and extended wear lenses, are other types of contact lenses available?
There are other types of contact lenses available including different colored contact lenses, bifocal contact lenses and lenses for astigmatism, contact lenses that block UV rays, special effect lenses, and more.

8. How will I know which type of contact lenses are best for my needs?
Your eye doctor can assist you in determining the contact lenses that are right for your eyes and for your lifestyle.

9. Are disposable contact lenses as good as daily wear contact lenses?
Yes, disposable contact lenses are just as good as daily wear. In fact, because of their shorter life cycles, they can be safer for the eyes because there is less opportunity for bacteria to develop and grow on the contact lenses. This decreases the chances for developing an eye infection.

10. After I get contact lenses, are follow-up visits to the eye doctor required?
If you're new to wearing contact lenses, the eye doctor likely will recommend that you return after the first week of wearing the contact lenses. The doctor will make sure that the contact lenses are fitting properly and that they are being properly cared for. You should get reexamined for contact lenses every one to two years as well.

Tips on applying eyeliner

Dear Blog,  thought i frequently use eyeliners but im still learning on how to apply on it and which application is  the best for me cos i really have a chinese eye. =.= However, perseverance do bring me success =) hehe...

i know many others that are in my position and were finding ways to apply eyeliner with a purpose to enlarge our eyes ;) besides looking and feeling vain ;P hahaha...

well, i came across this article and i hope this can be helpful as it did to me =) Happy Drawing

Eyeliner can be one of the trickiest things to use, but when applied properly the effects can be amazing. Most people use an eyeliner pencil because they think is will be easier, but with a bit of practice, liquid eyeliner can be used successfully too, so that either way you end up with a nice straight line.

Eyeliner Application

Before you begin applying the eyeliner, there are a few things you should do; firstly, apply any other eye makeup you want to use before adding eye liner and mascara. It may also be helpful if you remove dangly bracelets and watches as they can often get in the way or just become irritating distractions. Make sure you have a good mirror and lighting so that you can properly see what you are doing when using the eyeliner.

Eyeliner Pencil

1. The eyeliner pencil should be able to draw a thin, unbroken line along your skin - test it on your hand or arm first. Either sharpen it until the line is thin enough, or if it is too thin, draw a line on a tissue, which will make the tip blunter.

2. You should hold the eyeliner pencil as you would hold a pencil or pen to write with, usually with your dominant hand. Use your other hand to stretch the eye you are going to line from the outer corner. You can rest your hand holding the pencil against the hand pulling your lid taut.

3. Don't try to focus on your whole eye lid at one time - just look at the part you are drawing on. The line should be just above your eye lashes on the top lid and just below on the bottom, and should extend just to the outer corner of your eye.

4. Be wary if your eyeliner pencil tip is quite dry, as this may pull at delicate eye tissue. Draw the line with care if this is the case.

Liquid Eyeliner

1. Liquid eyeliner comes in a bottle rather like ink, and you must use a separate brush to apply. The best result will come from a point liner brush.

2. It is natural to close your eye as you draw the line, but if you keep it open, it will actually make it easier to follow the curve of your lid and thus have a straighter line.

3. You do not need to try and paint a continuous line with liquid eyeliner. It is actually easier to pain a few small dashes onto the lash line, eg. Inner corner, middle and outer corner, then go back and connect them.

4. If you want a thicker line than this initial thin one, build it up gradually. Start at the middle of the lash line and draw towards the outer corner. You can extend the line slightly past the outer corner of your eyelid if you wish.

Common Eyeliner Mistakes:

If you do make a mistake while applying liner in either pencil or liquid form, then it is easily corrected - just keep some eye makeup remover close to hand, and gently dab at the area you wish to remove with a small amount on the end

Day Out ^_^/

I just got back from Miri, spending my time there is priceless since in this year i have only got the chance to spend time with my parents n sis for only 8 days total GOSH!!! i can even count it with my fingers..hahaha
well, surprisingly i didnt manage to do any shopping there since im only there for 4 days =.=!!
however, the next day back in my dorm, i decided to just go to 1B with Rendy who is my Sabahan boyfriend..hehe..on his bike (everytime im on the bike, i will be like closing my eyes feeling the wind caressing my face @.@) hahaha...back to the story...well, first of all we went to watch Phua Chu Kang the movie (after several arguments on which movies to watch) in my opinion the movie is kinda so and so.. i was kinda dissapointed actually with the movie.. hey! its Phua Chu Kang ok? it should be hilarious...hmm.. i was expecting to see the his children, ah beng n his family and soo in the movie =(
Despite of that, without any planning at all, Rendy and i was just walking here and there asking each other where else to go, wad to eat later and so on..hahaha..so, i stop in front of this shop (cant remember its name) admiring the flip-flop that cost RM12.90 *.*/ after few consideration and the impatient guy beside me, i bought one flip flop which is blue in colour with a flower on it ...cute eh..hehe =P
Not come to a minute out from the shop,  i saw earings with headings of  buy 3 for rm10, buy 5 for rm10" brought to my attention...wao i said to myself, its kinda cheap. So i just walked straight to it without saying anything while Rendy was just tagging along and i felt bad too bout it but thats what boyfriend should be. ;)
with the help of Rendy, i end up choosing these three earing. fall in love at first sight ..awww ^_^/

Went to Kaison to look see look see and end up buying 2 pillow case for me n rendy plus a cute mug for rendy and 2 cute case for me =P sweet!!! love them soo much. The small red one i used to place all my earings while the blue one i place all my head bands and bracelets. it looks so cute n tidy on my table and i love it so much.

after coming out from Kaison, wanting to go somwhere to eat suddenly my eyes caught the headings 50%-70% on BAGS!!!!! WAAAA!!!! there are 3 rows of handbags with all sorts of colours, shapes and sizes. After surveying of prices and designs of the bags, in the end  i bought one that cost RM45 after discount (its kinda cheap for a leather branded bag) i bought it for its straps which seems very dependable and durable since my bags all get ruins due to the weight i put in my bag *sigh* plus i try to avoid from buying black handbags since i already have one black handbag.

After paying for the bag, i tried to prevent from looking elsewhere since my wallet was getting thinner every minutes.
i guess thats all that i have bought that day including my McD chicken porridge which i love so much too ^^/

Online shopping Addiction (Part 1)

GOSH!!!! lots and lots of online shopping nowadays.......clothes, shoes, bags, skin care products and so on. i was first introduced online shopping from my sista. ( http://angel-boutique.blogspot.com/) <------ cheap and lovely ^_^/ since then i fall in love with online shopping.

There are tons of online shopping, but of cos there are its pros and cons bout it ( to me, it has most pros than cons) it depends mostly on ur judgement bout certain stuffs and how hard u  have surveyed through those online shoppings. prices are varied thought u can see the same products being sold. therefore, look harder and think twice to prevent urself being an "innocent consumer of the internet" \^_^/

Well, recently i bought stuffs from facebook and has my own shopping list. hahaha...well, one day i'll show u some stuffs of what i have bought and my review on it.

Below are some of the online shopping links u can go to:

me blabbering bout me

This is me and my journey in my life.... sweet reading ;)

Born in 1988 in Malaysia. Grew up with 2 older brothers and a younger sister in a small town called Bintulu. Life was sweet.

hmm....was wondering what to write bout me. well, i'm presently a final year undergraduate taking up bachelor in Civil Engineering in University Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

Woo...>.< still cant believe my eyes lor. wondering how can a petite size girl like me taking a degree in something so huge and gigantic???
School life was not easy on  to me. Cried buckets of tears of dissapointment just to reach this level in my life.
Really thank God for His mercy on me and opening doors one by one to reach up to this level.

my school life begins when i was 5 years old. Didnt remember much of my kindergarten time (play play play only)  but i sure do remember my dad who first introduced me to ABC and the learning of reading (love my dad)

Primary school was more of a suffering than a time of pleasure for me. Without any knowledge of reading nor speaking the language of my mother's tongue (since we speaks english at home) i was send to chinese school. how i survived in there... only God knows.=.=!!!
then later, went to the secondary school where my mum teaches....huhuhu... how can i behave???
after form 5, was selected to go for PLKN for three whole months, with only few weeks after my PLKN ended, i was offered to go to matriculation in Labuan for a year, then UMS in 2007.

thats the summary of my school life. my love life....i never dated anyone till 2006 (gosh!!!) hahaha....though i do have crushes here n there...(i wont be normal if i didnt)

i should end it here now...

love always,
 Joyce
